Stay up to date and avoid new viruses! If you want to be sure all of your computers are automatically updated with the latest operating system security patches and service packs, Syplex recommends the use of Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS).

SUS is a free* add-in component for Windows 2000 and 2003 based servers (including Small Business Server).

• Your server synchronises with the Windows Update site and Microsoft's latest critical updates, security patches and service packs for Windows are downloaded to the SUS component on your server
• You can choose which updates to distribute, or Syplex can advise you
• Approved updates are installed on user machines directly from your server
• Automatic scheduling means downloads can take place outside working hours.

Security patches are made available at the same time as, or within a few hours of a security bulletin being released
* You pay only for installation and configuration.

What product updates are covered?
SUS supports updates for Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 2 and later), Windows XP Professional, and Windows Server 2003. It does not include provisions for updates to any other Microsoft products such as Microsoft Office, SQL Server, or Exchange Server. Unfortunately, Windows 95 and Windows 98 require manual updates.
